  7. I always get my supplies at local stores here in Lisbon :) I just love to walk around the downtown and enter a couple of shops to look at art supplies by myself and finding out what I like the most and compare items, I personally think it's quite different form buying from online stores, I've done it in the past and I currently prefer to shop by myself :)

  11. I get my art supplies at many different places. Nasco store or online, ARTEL (which unfortunately closed down this year. Very sad for our community), Michaels, Drama Trading co., Hobby Lobby, Beverly's fabrics & crafts, and any where I find them. Oh. Just placed my first order with Dick Black online. I can hardly wait!

  18. I generally buy my art supplies from Michael's. They have great sales on canvases every few weeks and getting their weekly coupon paper comes in handy!
I've also gotten some art supplies on Amazon, too. Smaller items like specific pens are on there and with a Prime membership shipping is free! Though I much prefer physically shopping for my supplies so I get a clear idea how things will look.

This year I'll probably get a lot of my things at Dick Blick which I hear is pretty much the heaven of art supplies! :)

  22. Unfortunately where I live there is very limited art supplies to be found, so most of my art supplies I purchase from two online sources, dickblick.com and jerrysartarama.com. Occasionally I can find some on amazon.com too.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I used to get them from Jerry's Artarama but then I moved and now I get them from Dick Blick's or Genesis Art supply. Or, you know, Michael's.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Anywhere I can find them! Recently bought watercolor pencils from A. C. Moores.i also buy many art supplies at the annual convention of the Society of Decorative Painters. They have every medium and lots of nifty tools at their trade show.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I get my art supplies at a local place in Grand Rapids MI , TSquare, also Hobby Lobby and Dick Blick. The pencils are available everywhere, which is one reason why I am so loyal to them. They're always high quality, wonderful pencils.

  26. I get my art supplies at Jerry's Artarama, Utrecht, Michael's and HobbyLobby, in Tempe and Mesa, Arizona.

  27. I usually get my art supplies at Michaels, AC Moore, or Dick Blick.
Sometimes my friends & I even get together to trade supplies!
    =)

  28. That's an easy one: my husband! :D He knows what supplies I like and always gets them for me by surprise when I'm running low on something.

To be technical though we go to the Dick Blicks in town or the local Desert Art Supply store. :)

    ReplyDelete
  29. I get my art supplies for Michael's, Cheap Joe's and Jerry's. Micheal's is the only brick and mortar, and are sometimes out of what I need, so for most stuff I have to go online.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I buy most of my art supplies at Accent Arts in Palo Alto or University Art in San Jose. I like supporting local businesses as much as possible, plus their product knowledge and service is better than at the big chain stores!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I get most of my art supplies from Jerry's Artarama online and sometimes Texas Art Supply in Webster, Texas. I also occasonially go to Micheal's and Hobby Lobby.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Jerry's Artarama in West Hartford, CT.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I purchase online at dickblick.com. If it's an 'emergency' I go locally to Reuel's Art & Frame.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Four Season Art Studio--MI

  37. I purchase my art supplies mainly from Dick Blick, online, and sometimes from Pearl (whenever Pearl has a sale bec Pearl's prices are seemingly higher than most art supply stores). Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Most of the time, I order online at Cheap Joe's, Jerry's Artarama or Dick Blick. In a pinch I'll go to A.C. Moore but they don't carry all the colors in the Prismacolor line.

Michael's is the closest place to get my art supplies but it is far from a really great selection. My next choice would be online at Dick Blick. The art supply store on University of Michigan's campus recently closed. What a shame. Ann Arbor/Saline, MI area is DESPERATE for a REAL art supply store. Michael's buyers.....you could reap a fortune in this area, if you are listening! Online is fine, but in-store with knowledgable sales staff is best! :)

  41. I mostly get my art supplies from Dick Blick. Their customer service is phenomenal. Occasionally I use Jerrys Artaeama.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I alternate between Michaels, Hobby Lobby and Craft's 2000. Hobby Lobby has online coupons often for 40% off. And Craft's 2000 has of the 3 stores the best open stock of pencils. I have also purchased at the UM art store on the UM campus in Ann Arbor.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I love Hobby Lobby! They don't carry all the pencils I want though. I'm in a kinda small town, so my choices are limited. I drive an hour to get to Hobby Lobby.

Blick.com is my most reliable resource. They even replace for free when the pencils arrive broken inside.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I get my supplies from Dick Blick. Their customer service is the best!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. I usually go online and compare for the best buy. I am on disability and the local stores add about a 50% markup on their PrismaColor merchandise. I have bought from Dick Blick and Art Fire, but will always check out Amazon or eBay first. Thank you for the chance to win!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I purchase the bulk of my art supplies online - Jerry's Artarama, ASW Express, Utrecht, Dick Blick, Daniel Smith, Cheap Joe's and others if the prices beat the regular suspects. I do go to the physical stores as well (lucky to live near Daniel Smith HQ) with my service dog Xena ... the mighty long hair chihuahua!

    ReplyDelete
  47. When I need, say, more than 6 or more colors, I go to Blicks. When I only need a few main colors, I make a quick run to Aaron Brothers or Michaels since they are closer to me.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I usually buy my pencils on line at Dick Blick, ASW, or Cheap Joe's. The pencil's I have bought at local stores have often contained broken leads which are a big frustration, and they the charge twice what the on line shops do.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I used to frequent Michael's Arts and Crafts and A.C Moore but then Hobby Lobby came to town...

    ReplyDelete
  50. AC Moore is the best place for me to shop right now.

    ReplyDelete
  51. It all started when I got a bunch of goodies from my mom. Now I get supplies from Amazon, Blick Studios, Michael's, and a little something from every local art store I find myself in!

I get most of my art supplies online. I have ordered from Dick Blick, Jerry's Artarama and Cheap Joe's. I have also ordered art supplies on ebay and Amazon. I also buy supplies at Michael's, Joann's and occasionally at Hobby Lobby since it's a little far away from me.

    ReplyDelete
  53. The majority of my art supplies are purchased through my art instructor. She buys in larger quantities, usually saving on shipping, and passes those savings on to the students.
