  2. Oddly when people are talking about something, and with my mind working the odd way it does, idea's just flash right on through. (Seriously, they can be talking about corn and an idea will jump me) Or you know it can be someone else work or a photo, you know normal stuff :)

  3. What inspires me is pain. I have rsd/fibro and when the pain gets going I find I want to draw. it takes me to a place where I don't have to think just pencil in hand, I can get lost in thought or make it a quiet time to pray just escape. I put so many feelings into each piece that I can honestly say I have my heart and soul into it. Sometimes it gets to painful but I now know art is a gift and never take it for granted. it really can take you beyond and can be sad or happy. its just nice to be able to escape.

  19. Good question!! I'm inspired by the art competitions, in which I regularly participate. I love Colored Pencil Magazine's monthly art challenge - always a great photo reference; and I love the various challenges put forth by Paint My Photo. Of course I may see a color scheme that inspires a journal page, or a new technique that may steer me off in a crafty direction.
Thanks CPM for providing the challenges and opportunities to win great supplies.

  63. I am inspired by the world around me. The landscape as I drive to work in the morning and evening. A couple of turkeys in a field on a foggy morning, the hawk I saw yesterday in the plum tree in my back yard. But it is not just the natural world, it is also the combination of fabrics I noticed when I dropped a bunch of my ties on the floor, and the combination of objects on my friends coffee table. In short, I am inspired everyday by the things around me.

Trees are my favorite still life to draw when I am primarily using colored pencils.

new art idea will spring up for me in this way. I'm like, "Wow, there's gotta be something more
to life than doing THIS crummy thing!" And my thoughts start to drift--before you know it, a creative
