   WHY IT WON: 
This stunning piece makes you feel that you can enter the artwork, it is that dimensional! I'm not sure if this was intentional but the panoramic view that almost makes you feel like you are crouched- down in a strange way.The colors used are soft, varied, and carefully executed with even the pollen on the flowers being rendered yet giving the right amount of contrast where shadows fell. A favorite area of the image is the soft bend of the flower to the left, with so much going on in the picture and with all the colors used it would be easy to end up with a jumbled mess but it reads perfectly.  So honored to have this entry in our challenge this month!

WHY IT WON:  
Sometimes it's just a simple interpretation that can make a winning piece and this is a perfect example of that. Excellent composition and rending execution. We especially loved the attention to detail in the veins of each flower. The soft outer edges just has an appeal that is unique to colored pencils. Just a very eye-catching piece!
