ADVANCED WINNER - Angie Johnson

 WHY IT WON: I’m sure you realized once you decided to start this piece that it was deceptively difficult! You more than met the challenge of having the background with an almost transparent main subject on the foreground. The wings were kept from getting lost with the wonderful reflections of color on selected segments of the wings. You were able to keep crisp lines without looking like a cartooned outline. Would have like to see the background fall back even more but you did a great job, I hope to see more from you! 

BEGINNER WINNER - Ritu Bajaj

WHY IT WON: The bold colors used really make this a stand-out. I love the different colors in the wings, and the texture of the furry areas around the neck. You did a great job keeping the dragonfly in the foreground but would like to have seen you work on the background a little more, perhaps more blending would have created a more blurred setting. Thank you for taking the challenge, I look forward to seeing you in the Advanced category next time!
