Why it won:

We were so astounded with your detailed work and was even more impressed when comparing it to the photo reference. You took the elements in the photo and enhanced them in such a beautiful way – from the moss and clovers, to the the depth of the bark. I love how you can see the light shining on the tree and almost feel the softness of the fox's’ fur! The only critique would be that the nose could have been a little straighter but that is just preference and if we weren't comparing then it wouldn't even be noticed. The colors you chose were more vibrant that the original and that brought this whole image to life. I know you must be pleased and we are honored to display it! Why it won:

This piece is so full and rich with color and depth - in the fur and in the bark! The eyes really sparkle and give this fox a unique character and you can’t help but wonder what is in its sights. The tail has that bristly look that adds to the realism of the image. One area that I think could have been worked on more is the grass, in some areas it gets a little lost but overall, this is a charming piece that will look great framed! I hope to see more from you.
