ADVANCED WINNER - Virrtu

WHY IT WON: This is really one of those pieces that you have to examine closely to make sure you are not looking at a photo. The shine of the grill and touches of highlight really set off this piece. One of the unsuspecting details that makes this so convincing is the reflection of the headlight on the car and the reflection of the car on the headlight. As great as this is, it is shocking to see other artists actually challenge it with their pieces, but the subtly of the lines (as seen in the glass of the headlights) and the accuracy of the emblem were those little things that pushed this to the top.

BEGINNER WINNER - John Hubbard II

WHY IT WON: Immediate stand out items are the colors reflected in the highlights and chrome. The lines on the grill are an especially difficult part of this piece to render, and you did such a great job with that area. The only critique is that the motor falls a little flat but the great thing about these challenges is that you can look at others who may have really captured an area and find out how to improve. We hope to see more entries from you!
